The City of Hollywood City Hall
Presents selected artwork by Alexandra Lane
In January of 2004, my husband Bob and I were exhibiting my
artwork at a Howard Alan event in Aventura, Florida when the
Chairwoman of the Arts program for the City of Hollywood came
upon my booth.  At that moment, I was surprised when she
suggested that I submit my work for her quarterly "Local Artist
Exhibition".

Upon being selected by the committee in May 2004, I can say it is
like a dream come true.  I am honored and thanful to have my
work exhibited in Hollywood's City Hall.
On July 1, 2005, Bob and I visited City Hall to capture my first reactions to seeing my work hanging.
Walking through the frong door, I was elated as the Chairwoman had placed her three favorite
paintings in full view of anyone coming into the building.  Below are my reactions, thoughts, and
comments on the inspiration for the paintings selected.  To purchase any of the paintings on-line,

The paintings
presented here
were created
during a very
active period of
experimenting
with a very early
pencil drawing
from 1985.  The
intent in creating
the "Humble &
Shy" series was a
way of expressing
my own journey
and growth into a
woman.
"Seeing Alex's first
reaction to three
painting hanging
right there on the
main floor of City
Hall was priceless .  I
have watched Alex
grow as an artist and
human being and I
am so thrilled for her
success.  I have roots
planted here in 1953
when my grandfather
built a house in
Hollywood". Bob
