Because Art
First and foremost, Alex is survivor who now has the chance to flourish.  After two years of effort
and learning, Alex's work is hitting a stride that will enable her to paint for many years to come.
And, as you have read her words, she is in the mood to express.  Watching and encourging her
during these past two and a half years has opened my eyes to a way of expression I never really
understood.

With an undergraduate degree in computer science and an MBA in Direct Marketing, I feel
priviledged to work with her to gain exposure and  present a platform for her works.   We are
together on the fundmental premise of helping others suffering from Domestic Abuse, Anorexia, and
especially the rights and needs of abused children.

I have witnessed since we met her sheer desire to win a long standing battle with her past.  And its
impact on her for thrity six years is at times beyond my ability to understand.  That notwithstanding,
I have never met anyone with a motivation to heal with so many things not in her favor.  She made
that very difficult choice to face a very uncertain future and found her way to South Florida via
The Renfrew Center.   There, she was encourged to share her story and because of her leap of faith to
trust someone for the first time, she was able to begin the journey to recovery.

I met Alex shortly after her release from Renfrew in May of 2001, and our relationship immediately
blossomed into true love.  Her determination and willingness to reach out for help at the most
critical times are a testament to her commitment to herself.   It is my commitment to be there with her
and continue to capture and present her work in future releases of our website.

I welcome you to enjoy the journey through a time of healing.

Warmest Regards.
